SPANISH 3 COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Spanish 3 is a course that will continue to expand on the grammar skills and vocabulary that were emphasized in Spanish 2 along with an introduction to new grammar tenses, concepts and vocabulary. Through various authentic materials, literature pieces and media resources, students will be provided with an acknowledgement and expansion of cultural understanding. The expectation is to speak Spanish with individual practice and converse entirely in Spanish every single day with teacher and classmates. There will be innumerable opportunities for small group conversations in the targeted language. The course also includes individual speaking presentations, journal writing, film, music, and listening activities.
The Spanish 3 course is aligned in accordance with the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL). By the end of Spanish 3, the goal for students is to maintain proficiency in the Intermediate Mid to High Level (or better) in the three communicative modes: Interpersonal, Interpretive and Presentational.
